"I Don't Remember."

It's a common refrain among students with ADHD, who often experience working memory problems as well. This means homework gets left behind, multiplication tables are hazy, and instructions must be written down. Use these 6 tricks to make remembering easier on everyone.

  1. Drawing pictures is an interesting tactic but not sure how effective it will be in a classroom or work meeting where information is coming at you quickly and you are required to record it and process it just as quickly which is the case with most people as we age and learning environments become more complex.

This approach first takes too much time preventing me from capturing enough of the necessary information to be effective. Secondly, it is a distraction in and of itself, sending me down a rabbit hole of unrelated thoughts. For example, the melons dressed in prison gear would see me thinking of unjust inequities in the penal system.

Recording meetings and lessons using a note taking app has helped a bit but the backlog of revisiting those notes and picking out the details is inefficient and creates tremendous anxiety for me.

    Any suggestions here?
