  1. I’m concerned about this article. Some of the recommendations here are good–yes, we should spend unstructured time with kids!–but some of the suggestions are troubling and go against other recommendations from ADDitude. Why is the parent a “boss?” Why are we focused on controlling them rather than helping them? Why are we punishing children for not having a “good attitude,” which is really just expressing their feelings? How does taking away privileges help kids learn to self-regulate or problem solve?
