“Do I let my child chill all summer, or do I feed him a steady diet of academics to keep his mind sharp?”

Parents of students with ADHD are torn as summer approaches and their children are eager to chillax. For the last 10 months, your son or daughter has put in superhuman effort to meet academic expectations and overcome learning challenges, and you don’t want him to lose the progress he’s made. Yet you know in your heart that he needs a break from school-related pressures.

For parents of children with ADHD, summer is a time to recuperate — and to firm up academic soft spots. The trick is striking a balance that doesn’t cause family strife because the middle- and high-school years are a critical time in your relationship. How you choose to spend your summer with your child can have a big impact on your shared “emotional bank account,” as Stephen Covey would say. A parent needs practical strategies that blend opportunities for fun and exploration, academic routines, and time for the family to reconnect.

In this webinar, you will learn:

  • The single best thing you can do to make your child’s summer productive and stimulating
  • Tips for a simple yet productive academic routine
  • The number one factor that will make or break your relationship with your child
  • Explore simple ways to infuse “fun” into the school break
  • How to support optimal brain development in your child over the summer
  • How to shed parent guilt about how others think you should be spending the summer
  • Strategies for getting your child organized when back-to-school rolls around

  1. I am really looking forward to this webinar! Is there any chance that in the future webinars focusing on summer survival and tips can be held in April or May? A lot of us in this part of the United States get out of school mid-May to very early June and like to have strategies in our back packets well before then. 🙂 Thanks for all the incredible resources—we are grateful!
