Free Webinar Replay: Lighten Up: A Healthy Nutrition Guide for Adults with ADHD

In this webinar, Roberto Olivardia, Ph.D., explains how ADHD can lead to weight loss struggles, and what adults can do to overcome them.

Reaching and maintaining a healthy weight is a marathon. The struggle is especially challenging for individuals living with ADHD symptoms that sabotage their best intentions. Impulsivity may lead directly to Twinkies or Doritos, instead of nutrient-dense fruit and whole grains, at the same time that emotional overwhelm beckons soothing carbs—pasta or potatoes or bread. Studies show that having ADHD is correlated with a higher risk of obesity and greater weight-loss struggles. In order to lose weight in a healthy, sustainable way, it must be done through an ADHD lens.

Using the latest science, the webinar will address:

  1. Why people with ADHD are at higher risk for obesity
  2. The challenges of losing weight for people with ADHD
  3. Cognitive self-talk strategies for losing pounds
  4. Smart supermarket shopping strategies
  5. Mindful eating approaches
  6. The importance of accountability in achieving and maintaining weight loss
  7. Parenting tips for helping your child eat well, exercise, and maintain a healthy weight
  8. The importance of good nutrition in optimizing your brain and weight
