The School’s Responsibility
“The school nurse was out today, so my daughter didn’t get her ADHD medication. The school said no one else could give it to her. How can I keep this from happening again?”
If your physician orders that a dose of medication be given at a certain time, the school must provide coverage when the regular nurse is out. What would have happened if your daughter needed the medication to treat seizures or diabetes? Let the principal know that this situation must be remedied at once.
