My daughter is 10 years old and will be entering 5th grade. She has an IEP with the designation of OHI with the diagnosis of ADHD and anxiety. She just had her tri yearly evaluations to see if she still qualifies for services and she does.
However due to her writting and math comprehension is severly behind, ibhabe been concerned she has dyscalcula and dysgraphia. Thisbyear she was givennthe WISC for her cognitive testing, while 3 yeara prior she was giving the DAS. The scores are not similar at all.
Is it possible for my daughter to have dyscalculia if her WISC index scores are within average range? Is there a way to look at individual subtest test scores to see a discrepancy? Are there further testing that could be provided that could show processing issues?
I do not feel that the WISC was administered as it should have been. I know there is something else going on other than her refusal to practice math facts. She states math is just numbers and symbols. She has no connection to the principles. If she “understands” something it is due to religion and use of mamipulatives. But will forget shortly after. She has no number sense at all. Are there other math related cognitive processing tests?
Thank you
