  1. Background: Homeschooling mom who pulled my ASD, ADD, ODD child from a terrible schooling situation. I have taught general ed and SpEd for 20 years (specializing in Asperger Syndrome and ADD). After 2 years of moderate success homeschooling, my child has turned into a full-blown ODD freshman teen. He refuses to follow the homework plans he helped set up. He lashes out when I remind him to do his homework. He shuts down during class saying everything is stupid and that he’ll never use it. (How many times have I heard that from my freshman boys?). This is the first time I’ve had to deal with it ALL day and into the night. We use all the steps above, but nothing is working. I’m staying consistent (4 months so far), but we are getting nowhere. As a Mom I am NEVER allowed to give up on my child, but it’s getting tempting. I’m tired of crying myself to sleep.
