“Motivation Hack #6: Turn Your Boring Tasks Exciting Games” – You can’t even proofread? This whole article was completely unhelpful and actually insulting. The smell of laundry soap is supposed to motivate me to do laundry? That’s so stupid. I should delegate all the tasks I can to someone else? Yeah, that’d be great if I was rich, which most people aren’t. Make mundane tasks fun? You can’t make them fun, or else they wouldn’t be mundane. SERIOUSLY, THIS ARTICLE IS AWFUL and you should be ashamed wasting people’s time and promising help.
I’m going to sound very negative, and I’m sort of only half-sorry, but this and similar articles are just useless for me. God knows how many I’ve read over the years, looking in vain for something useful, but they all say more or less the same thing. And none of it works. Exactly zero. I’m afraid I just can’t take advice like ‘Remove the “Shoulds”’ at all seriously. There are absolutely things I should do or I will not get paid or pay the rent or get to work on time and will get fired. And please, spare me the twaddle about ‘self talk’. I’m sorry, but this is no better than fishing about in pigeon guts to predict the future. And it’s why I have no time for ‘life coaches’. Thanks for trying, and I am sincerely glad to hear some people respond well to it, but it’s lost on me.
Online grocery shopping has literally CHANGED MY LIFE. I HATE going to the grocery store because it’s overwhelming and I usually have to go to more than one store. When Walmart got grocery pickup here, it was the best thing ever. Then Aldi’s introduced grocery delivery and I had it brought to my door! I had my list and shopping online actually helped me stick to my list and there were no people to deal with, tantruming kids to hear (screaming is an auditory overload for me), and I wasn’t tempted to buy things that were not on my list. If grocery shopping in a store overwhelms you, PLEASE try online. It was a huge game changer!
I can’t get my energy levels up to complete my assignment.
The article is okay for shopping, washing the car, cleaning or taking the dog for a walk. I really need help with getting my 51 year old carcass off the sofa and start writing
Yet I’m still reading this article instead of finishing my essay.
So am I. Additionally, I am still focusing the end of the work (I am quitting after 7 years because of the Burnout) rather than the project they expect me to finish before I leave the job.
This article is life-changing for me. Thank you!! 💕
This article is amazing and so incredibly helpful. I’ve struggled with ADD since I was a child and now as a wife and mother of four I manage my family life great, but the rest of my life is a mess. I have no motivation for things that don’t interest me or my family. It’s manifested into more of a fear of failure and now that I’ve read this I have hope that I can change my thought process and work towards achieving more of the things that I need too. Thank you!
