I wish I had read about these tips when at school.
One method that worked for me was to draw and write a poster. This activity made me organise my thoughts on that subject.
Having it on the wall enabled me to glance at the poster for a detail, or gaze at it and absorb it.
I soon realised that I could recall the picture in my mind then read off the details that I needed.
These days, I make my own calendars like a poster and have them beside my desk. They do not have each month on a new page, rather, they are one long timeline down the wall.
As soon as I saw a flowchart of a computer process – about fifty years ago – I have used them enthusiastically.
A flowchart enables anyone to quickly scan a process and spot any logical problems, or when more detail is required.
“How does that step result in that next step?”
“Oh, there is another step between them”
