This is such a disappointing post. I say that as a woman diagnosed with ADHD late in who struggles in the way you described. I say that as a mother of a 12-year-old diagnosed with ADHD. And I say that as a mother of a child who is in the gifted and talented prpgram ant his school. And the reason I say that is because.giftedness is a nuerodiversity, just like ADHD. Gifted kids face their own challenges- they are many and complex and their lives aren’t swimming pools and trophies. My gifted child struggles more with his intensities and neurodiversity than my ADHD daughter does. Perhaps you dislike the name of the program, but I assure you a gifted child does not have an easy life, and can struggle as much, albeit in different ways, as kids with ADHD or with learning disabilities. I am sorry you struggled and weren’t supported, but why vilify the other person? And your assumptions about how easy their life was is unhelpful.
