I’m a Music Therapist for a forensic psych hospital. As a heads up, a way for someone to gain access to an MT can be found on the AMTA (American Music Therapy Association) website [https://www.musictherapy.org/] or find additional information related to Music Therapy [https://www.musictherapy.org/about/find/]. There are three ways to find an MT 1) Online Directroy [https://netforum.avectra.com/eweb/DynamicPage.aspx?Site=amta2&WebCode=IndSearch] 2) E-mail: [email protected] 3) Phone: 301-589-3300
I’ve always used music to help me focus. At work, I keep the volume low, so as to not bother the other people in the office. So, it’s not like it was drowning out the other sounds – like the clock ticking, people typing, shifting in their chairs, etc. As near as I can tell, music allows that part of my brain that is wandering, and hearing every little sound, something to focus on so that I can actually work.
Well written post! I have got more information about music. From today I will start to listen to music after reading this post. This post is useful for all of us.
