It may seem callous and self-centered to think about our individual concerns in this time of global crisis. However, research shows that if I'm happier, calmer, and more focused, I'll help the other people in my household — my husband, two daughters, and our dog — to be the same.

It is not selfish, shallow, or frivolous to be worried about your own state of mind. If you don’t, who will? If you are secure with yourself in this situation, maybe you can help someone else who isn’t. Certainly, there are people who need help. This list begins with those who have difficulty moving, walking, etc, which expends to taking care of themselves in general. Who will help those people.
When flying, they always tell you to take care of yourself first, then help your children or other family members or people on the plane. So, take care of yourself, and then maybe you will be strong enough to help someone else.
