As an attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD) adult and teacher, I know the challenges children with learning disabilities and other special needs face. Here are my teaching techniques for helping ADDers fight boredom, pay attention, and make good grades.
THANK YOU for posting this!! I agree with everything you have said. I am also a teacher who has ADHD. I find it helps me relate to and understand my students better. One thing I struggle with is whether to share this with others. I find it ironic that even though we receive professional development and training that addresses being understanding, inclusive, and accepting of students with disabilities, administrators and other staff members are often judgmental and discriminate against teachers with disabilities, especially ADHD. Are there any other teachers out there that feel this way or are having similar experiences?
