  1. This was an unbelievably discouraging article. I agree with the above poster about a girl with potential being shut down by those who are supposed to be leaders. Further, the strategies you suggest be shared with a coach didn’t include anything about auditory comprehension, working memory, or other executive function deficits. Usually ADDitude Mag has some quality work, but this was C-Squad at best. Please, delete this article before it damages more ADD/ADHD girls.

  2. I love this magazine and typically I find that the articles are helpful for both myself, an adult with ADHD, as well as my 9 year old son who has it as well. However, this article sort of rubbed me the wrong way. It sounds to me like this girl had the potential to be a pretty good ball player but instead of figuring out ways to help work through the struggles she faced, they went to a new sport. My son is really good at baseball, he’s showing some really good potential but we are struggling in helping him to stay focused when there isn’t a ton of action. I landed here because I was searching for, and would love to read, an article that shares strategies on helping our kids through some of these issues so they don’t have to quit something they’re good at and they really love.
