  1. I have a problem with the following statement in the article: Luckily, these medications work for a lifetime without the development of tolerance, but they need to be taken reasonably consistently in order to get full benefits. I am shocked that an MD would even write that. Stimulant medication DOES cause tolerance with long-term use. I know because I have been dealing with tolerance to Amphetamines for a number of years ago after being on stimulant medication since 2006. I was started on 20 mg in 2006, which worked well for me, until it didn’t so they raised my dose, again and again, by the time it was 2014 I was maxed out at 90 mg which eventually stopped working too. I went off of the medication for a year and when I went back on it, I still had to be on higher doses because smaller doses which worked in the very beginning still no longer worked even after being off the medication for a year. Telling people they won’t build a tolerance to stimulant medication misleads them. There is a reason this is a controlled substance!

  2. Has anyone had success treating their ADHD with medical marijuana? I have read some promising research regarding certain strains that seem to help with focus and other ADHD symptoms. Any comments would be helpful. Thanks!
