  1. I’ve known for decades that exercise was therapy for me, long before ADHD was recognised in me. Despite a lot of challenges such as autism and suspected (never confirmed) dyspraxia, I gravitated towards exercise from late childhood. Now, I can see what’s been going on, and how my need for movement, along with other ADHD traits, has led me to becoming a Masters athlete for the past 9 years, after doing a number of other sports previously. Sport provides the structure I need to make exercising consistent and productive, as well as providing dopamine hits through competition. I’m now 56 and physically and mentally in the best shape of my life.

  2. I shared this article because it was so interesting. I’m a science nerd too but I’m interested in anything that gets me exercising more consistently at 60. I’m 60? That is just unbelievable! I have a hypothesis that we ADDers don’t mature the way that others do. I like to lift weights I just need to find an aerobic or HIIT exercise I enjoy to stick with. I want to keep my brain elastic and bright.

  3. Excellent Article, especially for us science freaks!
