“How I Helped My Non-Conformist Daughter Survive the School System”

I never gave up on her. Thank goodness she never gave up on herself.

  1. I survived being a non-conformist at junior high school as I was the odd one out – I was from a foreign country. No-one expected me to be the same as them.
Returning to my home country was rough at times, but then university was great.

In my work life, they either hate me, or love me.

  2. Wow, this would make a great movie!
Unfortunately, it is the author’s reality.
    Thanks for sharing this.

  3. Thank you for sharing your struggles and victory. Your story gives me so much hope! I too have to work with a school district that is indifferent at best. Individual teachers have been great, but the school administration has been a nightmare. Sometimes they make me doubt myself and my instincts on how best to help my son. Hearing about how staying true to yourself and your daughter’s needs resulted in her success is so inspiring! Thank you again for sharing.
