This informative, results-oriented webinar will first provide a brief overview of the major scientific explanations of motivation and why they don’t quite fit kids with attention deficit disorder (ADHD or ADD). We’ll focus on the difference between extrinsic motivation (I want to do this because of what tangible rewards it will bring me) and intrinsic (I’m doing this because of how it makes me feel). Then, we’ll look at why it’s so challenging to light the fires of motivation under kids with ADHD (spoiler alert: it’s about their prediction of the outcome). Finally, we’ll look at a simple but effective formula that will get children, adolescents, and young adults with ADHD from “here to there” and feel really good about making the journey. If you’re tired of failed “carrot and stick” approaches, tune in to this very practical podcast.
