Jumping Through Hoops for ADHD Medications
A mom with ADHD explains the hurdles to filling her ADHD medication prescriptons from both her doctor’s office and her pharmacy.
I have to go through a preauthorization and a quantity-limit override whenever I get medication for myself or my son. The process takes at least three weeks, and we both do without medication while we wait. I’ve also had pharmacists lose my information or send it to the incorrect provider.
I cry every time I have to update a dosage of our medication, because I anticipate the hoops I’ll have to jump through. Do people with diabetes have to go through this to get insulin?
