Hey everyone, so my husbands new insurance won’t cover the generic unless the doctor jumps through their hoops and then we have to pay the higher copay my son takes two scripts at $50 a whack that is $100 bucks a month for his meds. So we changed to name brand adderal because they will cover that one at the lower copay which is $35 a whack so $70 a month. And the name brand is not working at all. So long story short we are waiting to go to the dr until the 31 because of pay day and copays for specialist of $60. Meanwhile, he is out of afternoon meds, so I went in the reserve bathroom stash of extra meds because of our pharmacy over filling meds and child simply not taking them. Anyway gave him a generic for the afternoon and you would not believe the difference, a good day for a change. Now we wait three more days for dr app and see what he thinks and I am going to have him look at these posts when I go to see him. Maybe I can get him to post for advice, for others. Between the insurance, the drug companies, and the dr office I am stressed out to the max. He has been on vacation with us to the beach, a week to church camp, and 7 weeks of SWAT-Strength Weight Agility Training, Now we start football camp for a week and school starts the 15th of Aug.

For the person that complained about CVS not taking the meds back. Our pharmacy won’t take it back once it comes out the window and into the car, that is why you are to look at the thing to sign and if it is correct sign and then get meds, I hate that they stick my debit card in the bag, cuz one I threw away my Flex card (HSA Benefits).

It is not just Ritalin and their generic. Our insurance company through husbands work and they won’t cover generic adderal but they will cover the real stuff but it doesn’t seem to be working or my son out grew it and he is on max dose. This is my second child with ADHD/ODD. This child also has several learning disabilities. There have been some really rough days lately. He fusses about everything and sticks his nose on adult conversations and argue about things he knows nothing about. 24 yr old called the other day and we compared his symptoms to his brothers. He suggested therapy, he would know he had the same issues so sort of talking to the source so to speak.
