    SSRIs are also used to treat OCD behaviors. The Strattera is a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. There is a black box warning for SSRIs for the treatment of children and adolescents with Major Depressive Disorder because in some children, they can increase depression and suicidal thoughts. Discuss your concerns with your prescribers.

    Hi Jeff, I don’t have ADD/ADHD, but I’m trained in psychology and marriage and family therapy. I’m not quite sure what specialty your uncooperative doctor holds, but if s/he is a specialist you might try to ask your primary care physician for a Rx for your meds until you can find a specialist (psychiatrist or neurologist) who can help you.     Wellbutrin is not an SSRI.

    Wellbutrin works on norepinephrine and dopamine.
