Aurobindo is garbage period
I have been on ADHD meds most of my life and after 30 of course my Blood Pressure starting getting up more than my PCP would like it to be. I bought a BP tester for home and I started dieting and walking everyday and lost a large amount of weight and my BP went back to normal and I am on 60mg of Adderall IR which I am told is the hardest on BP than most of the meds for our condition.
120/80 is not realistic for most middle age adults on Amphetamine like medications…..unless you’re super active and eat extremely healthy. My Psychiatrist will accept anything under 140/90 like every now and then…like 2 times a year as long as the other readings are 130/80 or right at it. It is with me taking 40mg of Lisinopril(sp?) a day 120/75 almost always with 60mg’s of Adderall daily split in 3 doses.
Cut all your salt down to almost nothing and make sure you drink enough water and get 30 minutes per day of walking , running, swimming or something in and I bet you it will resolve itself.
I have to say that forgetting or losing track of thought often go hand and hand are a common symptoms we ADHD people have lived with all of our lives. Medications and Organization skills is first and foremost the solution. We are all still just humans and not machines, You might try to find humor and learn to laugh at yourself for being silly. We ADHDr’s have to always remember we are really hard on ourselves more than others. We have to lean to allow that inner voice to be kind and caring always and when it starts becoming short, rude, and insulting we stop it and start positive reinforcements internally and even out loud if needed.
Many times when I would “lose it” it was because, from the instant I thought something was misplaced I started self scolding and the inner voice defeated any chance of recovering the situation from the get go. I now very effectively keep that inner mean voice shut down always and forever.

The biggest part of my forgetfulness was remedied once my dose was correct and I was able to apply lifestyle changes….Routines and preparations before hand of all things with enough time. Understanding your personal limitations(bandwidth) and not overwhelming yourself with things you must do in a day will also help.January 18, 2020 at 12:02 pm in reply to: Built up tolerance to 20mg XR — how long a break to restore effectiveness? #138745
The question of tolerance is something you should be discussing with your psychiatrist to be honest. That being said the afterlife of Adderall is 9-14 hours meaning that after maximum 14 hours there is none of the medication in your system to effect you in any way. Adderall is not even detectable in the blood stream after 3 days of not taking it.
I would like you to specify these effects you are talking about being “less noticeable”? The idea of Adderall ,correctly dosed, would be that you would not “feel” anything. You would just start feeling like your focus is not there and you are easily distracted again or daydreaming when you should be studying for an exam or reading a report you must understand and just can’t muster the motivation to do it. Those are the things that disappear from your life and you will know your dose has become ineffective. Adults generally start showing tolerance issues much sooner than 10 years and even 3 years. I also know that amphetamines is one of those medications that rarely become completely ineffective for people even when they have developed a tolerance. I had to have my Adderall adjusted after the first 2 years from 10mg tablets 2 times daily to 10mg tablets 3 times daily. That solved me for 2 more years then we went to 20mg tablets 2 times daily for 2 more years and then to 30mg in the A.M and 20mg at noon. This is all IR formulation and then after 3 more years I was put on 30mg Adderall twice a day….that was fine for about 2 years and now I jut recently switched it to 20mg IR Adderall 3 times a day. The psychiatrist says that if this is not the solution we will start 20mg Adderall XR in the A.M. and then 20mg IR Adderall in the afternoon to get me through the rest of the day.
I think you just need the psychiatrist to give you a 10mg IR or 20mg IR in the afternoon or early evening to hold you through until bedtime. The thing is 30mg Adderall XR may also do it as you’re saying effectiveness not duration of effect. There is a big difference and can sometimes be overlapping issues. Are you sure to not take it with Acidic Drinks like Soda Pop or Orange juice? Do you take Omega Oils daily to replenish your amino acids which help your body produce dopamine? Even try the L-tyrosine supplements which help most people with the meds not being ” as effective” as they used to be.
Your question about “resetting tolerance” is usually only applicable with people who have been on extremely high dosages like 60mg per day…or more. 20mg XR daily even 7 days per week are not going create long term interruption from all I have researched on the subject.

As an adult that has lived with this disorder all my life it is something I do on a regular basis. I have a few IRL friends that accept it and deal with the long absences and when we start hanging out we really enjoy the friendship and joke about my MIA times. You must know working in mental health that she isn’t doing it intentionally and she feels at times that she has pushed you away. I often felt like I had ignored my friends so long that even if I recontacted them all the guilt I would feel from going silent so long would not be bearable on my part. I am actually in a similar situation with a friend that is so much younger than me I have felt like the friendship was silly and could not be real. The friend has continued to reach out to me and I text back but, always make excuses why we can’t hang out. This has gone on for over a year so if she is as special as you say then you already know the answer you are seeking from us.
I have had similar side effects on my medications in regards to urinating more frequently and it is a posted side effect with methylphenidate ER. I have not yet ever read anyone stating the nose irritations like you’re having which is a little alarming to me to be honest. I highly recommend you call your doctors office as well as pharmacist ASAP to make sure that is not a dangerous reaction.
heart racing is normal as long as your blood pressure stays in a reasonable range and should subside fairly quickly as you adjust to the meds but, if your heart starts feeling in anyway uncomfortable on these sort of meds talk with a professional ASAP please!!!
70mg is the maximum amount per day of lisdexamfetamine (Vyvanse) that the FDA has recommended and approved but, I have read from others taking more under their doctors recommendations. Your insurance company usually will not cover more than the FDA limit unless they approve an over ride done by your doctor. That being said I have read of doctors using a booster of straight dextroamphetamine in the afternoon to help patients get through the down side of the afternoon.
The real question you have to answer for yourself is are you not “feeling it” or are your symptoms not being covered as well? There is a big difference in the two and the small “euphoric feelings” you first experience on all stimulants runs it’s course and usually never returns no matter how much you take of the medication. I for one have never felt the euphoric feeling from my medications as I have heard people talk about. I am very uncomfortable with anything effecting my mood in that way at any rate so I am happy it doesn’t give me that feeling. I take 30mgs of instance release 2 times a day of Adderall(dextroamphetamine salts) and I have been at that dose for over 10 years now. I used to take Ritalin (methylphenidate) ER 20mg 3 times per day and it eventually just stopped working for me.
**I have also read like someone else posted that the medications like amphetamines and methylphenidates can be greatly effected by the foods you eat when you first take them most especially orange juice or things rich in vitamin C.

Vyvanse metabolizes into D-amphetamine in the liver so I am a little confused how the exact same chemical is creating such vastly different states of mind for you. I know that people often say the same things that Vyvanse is better, smoother, and “like adderall” but minus all the negative side effects. Is this what you found?
I wanted to let you know you’re not alone in this experience with the generic version of Adderall by Aurobindo. I have had this ADHD my entire life and about 10 years back I wasswitched from Methylphenidate ( Ritalin) over to Adderall as it works best for adults I have been told. Aurobino is using some sort of binder that prevents the full delivery of the amphetimines into the blood my opinion it is true. I went to CVS last month as my regular pharmacy was out of the Teva generic I have been taking for 3 years now. I was taking brand name Adderall before that. Last month was literally a living hell for me. From the first day I knew something was not right. Even though I actually sleep better at night after a full day medicated , with the Aurobindo Adderall the first night I slept from 2pm until 7 pm the following night. It was like I had been sedated. I had terrible headaches,my bowels became sluggish, and my ADHD was almost worse then I could ever recall. I started investigating the internet for posts about Aurobindo Adderall and they all read like yours and mine. After finding about 200 posts that kept reading the same I disposed of my remaining tablets and 2 days ago have been back on my regular Teva Adderall…30mg.. I am literally back to normal 2 days in. Teva is the only generic Adderall that follows the brand Adderall 100% with no deviation. I can not tell any difference from when I was taking brand and Teva ever. They work well.
