Has your son begun to consume more caffeine lately? I currently take 15mg of adderall IR twice a day, and I have found that when I take my medicine and consume a lot of caffeine, I get some nervous ticks (for me this is flexing my leg muscles). If I don’t drink caffeine and just take my meds, these ticks aren’t nearly as prominent.

Lol! Good question. Probably my favorite trait my ADD has given me is my ability to retain information I am interested with little effort . (It is a different story when it comes to information I could care less about or things like where I left my keys 🙈)

I also am kind of found of my dry, sarcastic sense of humor. 🙈😊

Thanks so much for your reply! It helped a lot. 🙂 You are right. I meet with my doctor in a couple of days. My psychologist (who specializes in ADD and gifted adolescents) has helped me find a doctor that is supportive and understands my needs.

Getting my ADD under control certainly has made the idea of college much less daunting then it was to me before. 🙂

I also have anxiety along with ADHD. I was prescribed 15mg of adderall instant release once a day, and it actually helped my anxiety. Turned out the main source of my anxiety came from the consequences of my ADHD (procrastination, not being able to focus and get stuff done) Talk to your Dr, and see if they think it is an ok idea to give a stimulant a shot. If the stimulant does make your anxiety worse, it will be out of your system in just a couple hours. Good luck! 😊😊
