What are some services your school provide for your child with their IEP besides Speech Therapy and occupational therapy

My middle schooler has a directed studies class daily that helps teach organization/executive functioning skills like using a planner, managing work load, tracking grades, etc. It’s not a “homeroom” but they can use that class time to make up missed work, retake exams if needed and sometimes get a jump start on homework. They also provide a Life Skills period that is 20min, 4 days/week where they work on improving social interaction and teamwork skills. Finally they have one period each of language and math where there are two teachers instead of one for kids who need extra help. With the exception of life skills, these are services available to all students, not just those on an IEP. He also has a District issued ipad from the adaptive technology dept that is used for his written work.

Pull-out services are common for kids who need help with particular subjects. Also, assistive technology becomes more available when you have an IEP.

What needs does your child have that you’re looking for services to address?
