Next week I am going to have a testing process for adhd/add. I only worry because I got during school time ok according to my grades and the teachers evaluations. Nevertheless the problems I was having the same problems as today, just being able to cope well at school. I am worried that the psychologist will decide against the diagnosis because of that (an early start is part of the diagnosis criteria).
      How are your experiences ?

Sometimes clinicians do write off an adult diagnosis because the individual did well in school. Those clinicians shouldn’t be evaluating for ADHD, because they don’t have accurate, updated understanding of adult ADHD.

Make sure the clinician you’re being evaluated by is well-versed in adult ADHD. And be sure to talk about other symptoms that occurred in childhood, not just academics.
