      Hi all,

I’m a 47-year-old man who found out about my ADD 3 or 4 years ago. Today, I was just given a diagnosis for coronary artery disease along with a laundry list of immediate lifestyle changes I must make. One thing my cardiologist seems unconcerned about is my Concerta/Ritalin prescription.

The medication has been tremendously helpful to my career and my self-esteem and I would prefer to keep taking it. I want to believe that he is right and focus on the other tough changes I must make, but my loved ones and I are concerned that maybe I should reduce my dose or discontinue its use. Can anyone share what they know about a situation like this?

Thanks in advance for any insight you might be able to provide!

It sounds like you may need to get a 2nd opinion from another cardiologist, if for nothing else than peace of mind.
