      Hi,all!

A few months ago, there was an ADDitude newsletter that recommended some various brain training tools. Among them, they recommended a very expensive headband called FocusFit or Focus1, from the company BrainCo (here’s an article about it: https://digital.hbs.edu/platform-digit/submission/braincos-focus-headband-brain-scan-or-brain-scam/#)

Has anyone with ADHD tried this? I can’t seem to understand the technology. If all it does is monitor whether you’re focused or daydreaming, then send that info to an app that goes “Ding! You’re not focused!”, well… it hardly seems worth the cost.

      Any ideas?

      Best,

I don’t know anything about the FocusFit specifically, but my young adult daughter uses Muse for anxiety with great results. It sounds like it works much the same. It signals when your focus is waning to train your brain by practicing pulling back to focus.

Can I ask Penny does your daughter have access to any programs apart from the ones that come with Muse? I think the technology is one thing, but then you can set the settings for different purposes – it can get expensive to work with specialists though.

We haven’t explored that. She’s happy to use the meditations that came with it.
