Wow, I feel your confusion. I was diagnosed about 21 years ago, have my Master’s degree, and have been married 36 years. I can’t tell you how many times my wife has said, “You and the boys are so weird with your thinking” — or something to that effect. I know how I think is usual for her, but just once I’d like to know what it would be like to think with a “normal” brain. It is especially hard when trying to describe to others how ADHD makes your life more difficult to manage in normal day-to-day reality. Especially with those folks who say, “Yeah, I’m forgetful too… maybe I have ADD.” All I know is this is the way my brain works.
