It is very common for individuals with ADHD to have at least one other “disorder,” depression and anxiety being the most common. A lot of people take a stimulant and an anti-depressant. Your doctor may not be comfortable prescribing the combination, but that doesn’t mean it’s not possible. Honestly, it means you’re not seeing the right doctor because this one isn’t really hearing you.
