Just in case anyone else stumbles into this thread because they’re having difficulty with swallowing – either the capsules or as in our case, even swallowing the apple sauce method, I wanted to post our solution in the hope he may help someone else. It turns out that our daughter’s swallowing difficulty is something that kids with Sensory Processing Disorders experience. Our doctor prescribed the same medication in a syrup and whaddya no, instant fix! I had no idea that an extended/delayed release could be given in a liquid, and a few pharmacists said the same! It’s expensive in comparison to the capsules so is usually reserved for kids at risk of discontinuing medication because of the swallowing issue, but if that describes your family and your insurance will cover it, I hope this tidbit helps.
