From what I’ve been told, Ritalin is the first adhd med that gets prescribed and then if it doesn’t work the doc maybe will prescribe Adderall or something else.
For me, I’ve tried both, however Ritalin works the best for me but the best for me is the long acting version concerta. I heard the long acting Adderall Vyvanse works well for others. I like to think the concerta is like a little border collie sheep dog keeping the ‘sheep’ (dopamine) where it should stay put and keep me focused and content to do all the boring necessary things I need to do. From my experience Adderall makes more ‘sheep’ happen but for me they don’t hang around much and my poor little sheepdog is non existent. But that’s my brain.
