So I was Dx’d as a kid, back in the 1980’s when you were taken off stumulents when you hit puberty.
I got through a BA in history with crappy grades and paddled around in circles for a couple years until I got angry enough to succeed at nursing school. I worked regular part time for about 8 years then per diem for six or so more years. I had always blamed my increasing frustration on the steady intrusion of computers into health care but now I really wonder because at the same time that was happening I was going through perimenopause, then full on menopause.
I do think that the loss of the two hormones really increased my adhd symptoms. I managed to get on meds although the struggle continues.
I am hypothyroid from birth, if that matters…
