Coping Strategies for Stress
Adults with ADHD are particularly susceptible to stress: they have higher levels of cortisol than people without the diagnosis. Stress-impaired executive function diminishes working memory and impulse control, as well as mental flexibility and coping skills. Stress also makes it hard for adults with ADHD to focus.
