One reader prepares her child for a time with no ADHD meds.
When my son was younger, I explained to him that, one day, he might choose to stop taking medication for his ADHD, so he needed to know how to behave off the meds as he did when he was on the meds.
Now that he is 20, he has decided that he is not ready to be off medication – but he knows how to act appropriately, even if he forgets to take it.
