Rick Steinberg, M.D. grew up in the New York City suburbs. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard College in 1965, After receiving his M.D. degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Bronx, N.Y.), he did his post-graduate work at Montreal Children’s Hospital. He became board certified in pediatrics in 1975. Dr. Steinberg has practiced in Woodburn, Oregon for his entire career, 2 years for a migrant health clinic and since 1975, in private practice.
Dr. Steinberg has gradually shifted from a general pediatric practice to spending more time evaluating and treating children with behavior disorders. He has a special interest in children with ADHD and other school rlated problems. He has always believed that patients need to understand the basis of their symptoms and tries to incorporate teaching into daily practice.
Dr. Steinberg has 6 children, 4 of them adopted, 3 with ADHD. He has learned mnuch from them and from all the other patients he has met. He lives with his wife, Harriet, a coach for ADHD adults.
