Renee Hamilton-Newman is founder and president of Dyscalculia.org, a global nonprofit providing information, support, diagnostics, and training to optimize outcomes for those with significant learning difficulties with math, reading, and writing.
Determined that no one be limited — as she was in math, and family was in reading — for 30 years, she collected the latest findings and resources, and designed tools and instruction to facilitate fluency in language and quantitative reasoning.
Renee has master's degrees in Instructional Design and Special Education. She has a specialist certificate in Distance Education from University of Wisconsin, and certificates in LD diagnosis, dyslexia, remedial reading, writing, mathematics, and data privacy and security. She has a B.A. in Advertising from Michigan State University.
Renee received the 2018 School Board Leader of the Year Award from Eastern Michigan University's Charter School Office, and continues to serve on civic and school boards. Renee enjoys hiking, sailing, and celebrating with husband, Wes, their four children, family, and friends. She currently resides in Dearborn, Michigan.
