Julie Mencher, MSW, is a pioneer in gender diversity education, psychotherapy, and advocacy. As an internationally recognized speaker and consultant, Ms. Mencher serves as a strategic advisor to organizations on gender diversity and sexuality. In her research and consultation practice, she has worked with over 100 independent schools, focusing on how these institutions can welcome and support trans students. She is formerly on the faculty of the Smith College School for Social Work and the Jean Baker Miller Training Institute at Wellesley College. In her psychotherapy practice, consulting work, and training of other therapists, Julie currently focuses on trans adults and gender-creative youth and their families. She has a national reputation in working with the parents of gender-exploring youth.
