ADHD Couple Constantly Fights Over Clutter

“My husband and I fight constantly about what to get rid of and what to keep. Any suggestions?”

Is hoarding a problem in your home? Is clutter beginning to affect your relationship? Sentimental attachment to items that never get used is a big problem for adults with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD). Throughout the years as an ADD/ADHD coach, I have helped clients find solutions. If you feel you need to hold onto an old high school football jacket or other clothing items that are never used, take a photo of yourself in the jacket and then donate it. Old news clippings and other paperwork can be scanned and preserved digitally. There is always a way to keep memories alive without cluttering your home.
