When Strattera Isn't Enough

"My son's doctor suggests a small dose of a stimulant in addition to his Strattera. Is this a good idea?"

by Larry Silver, M.D.

Strattera alone sometimes isn't enough to curb symptoms of AD/HD. The drug's manufacturer, Eli Lilly, now suggests adding a stimulant if needed. My concern is that, if you need a stimulant to see improvement, why use Strattera at all?

Discuss this with your son's doctor.
