Medication After School

"I think our son needs medication only for the school day. What do you recommend?"

by Larry Silver, M.D.

There is no magic rule. The best approach is probably to consider the demands of all the activities in which your son participates—and that goes for weekend activities as well as for sports and other after-school activities. If his symptoms keep him from being at his best in any given situation, he should probably be covered by medication at that time.
