Comorbid Conditions and ADD Meds

"Will ADHD medication help me stop picking at my skin? I've dealt with this, as well as depression and eating disorders, my entire life."

by Larry Silver, M.D.

Picking at one's skin is often indicative of obsessive-compulsive disorder. So are eating disorders. OCD is a common comorbid condition in individuals who have ADHD or depression, but it is a separate disorder. Thus, your ADHD medication will not help. Share your concerns, and my suspicions, with a psychiatrist.
