Transition Goals for IEP

"What type of transition goals should I put in an IEP for a high school student with ADD who hopes to attend community college?"

by ADDitude's Education Expert

Transition strategies should include testing accommodations based on her need. They may include additional time on testing, preferential seating in a large lecture class, additional time on written tests. Match her abilities to the accommodations.

Suggest parents have a educational battery done prior to community college to help see her strengths and weaknesses. It is easier to write a plan when you know what she can and cannot do.
