Growing Out of ADD

"My 15-year-old has been fine without medication for the past two months. Is it possible that he has outgrown ADHD?"

Although the reasons are unclear, some adolescents do seem to outgrow the need for medication. I suggest keeping him off, but monitor him closely as the school year progresses. If symptoms return, he should restart medication. His doctor can determine whether a lower dose may be sufficient.
