Sharlene Habermeyer, M.A. is passionate about music and how it helps the learning process. Her initial inspiration for writing, Good Music Brighter Children came from the extensive work she did with her severely learning disabled son, and finding that music was his strongest catalyst for learning she began passionately researching the effects music had on the developing and mature brain. She holds a Masters degree in Education from Pepperdine University, California and currently teaches college. She has spoken at various conferences, seminars and schools across the United States as both a keynote and featured speaker. Additionally, Sharlene has written or been featured in various online and print publications including: L.A. Parent, About.com, American String Teachers Association, A2Z Homeschooling, The Examiner (LA), Music Inc., Teaching Music, Parents As Teachers National Newsletter, and over fifty parenting blogspots.
