Risperidone (risperdal) - drowsiness

Our 11 yo son just added .25mg of Risperidone in morning & evening to his Focalin yesterday. When he takes the Risperidone he gets extremely drowsy, can barely keep his eyes open & moans "Mom, help me". He doesn't like the feeling. Is this (hopefully) temporary? He could not go to school like this.
