Which med is really the right one?

My 17 yr old was just diagnosed with ADD w/o hyperactivity. What is the safest and best medication out there for her. Her doctor suggested Vyvanse,but all I really read on it is for ADHD. I'm really confused and concerned about these meds. Which is truly the one for just ADD?. I need Help!
