ADHD Treatments have come a long way
The great news for those of us children and adults with Attention deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder is that ADHD meds have come a long way. When I was a kid back in the 1990's there was Ritalin and Dexedrine. Now there's Ritalin,Adderall,Dexedrine(very hard to get), Vyvanse , Concerta, and those are just the stimulants. In Addition there are Antidepressants(not so good for children) , Antihypertensive medication(e.g Intuniv) even anticonvulsants like Depakote (divalproex sodium). So If ADHD is what you got and you view it like I do as being a NeuroPsychiatric Disorder then their are a long line of treatment options to help adjust your Nervous System and you can add psychotherapy to the package to help deal with the psychiatric, behavioral, and Emotional issues common in people with ADHD. Just remember it may take a long time but just hang in there, be strong, and stay optimistic. Things can improve I would know I'm ADHD adult.
