Concern for 9 year old who seems depressed and concern of lack of friends

My 9 year seems to be depressed this summer. He is picking fights with his brother and blaming his brother. yesterday he did not like what his brother did nad wound up givinghim a black eye. My other issue is he does not seem to have any friends.. he seems to get along well with others at school or camp I never get any complaints but he get not request for playdates and birthday party invitation. I am not sure what to do for him. Can anyone tell me if they have been in this position or steer me where I should go to help him..

There are two things you could consider doing. One is getting your son counseling if the depression seems to be ongoing. The other is getting him invloved in activities that he likes and may be good at. My son has had times where school friendships were not going well but thankfully he always has a couple of friends from the activities he's in. These friendships have been a lifesaver. This summer he hasn't seen any friends from school but has gotten together with sports friends. Without them he would have had a lonely summer. My son doesn't do martial arts but I've heard it's a great activity for adhd kids. Good luck.

Nice teenage help

There are times that kids doesn't want to get along with others because he/she don't like them. Yes, I agree to try to join in any activities or go somewhere in a nice place. That's a nice teenage help especially if they're busy and enjoyed to what they're doing. They will be happy for that.
