DAY ONE: Smoked a half a pack of cigs in 6 hours!!!!

Holy Crap!!!!

So at 42 years old, I was just diagnosed with ADD (no hyperactivity). THANK GOD!!! I am soooooo praying that this DX is the right one!!!! My frazzled brain needs a break!!!

Anywho....Today I took my first dose of generic Adderall XR 10mg. While it was a little weird to experience that "speeding" feeling and dizziness when I stood up, it has since mellowed. BUT, I am smoking like a fiend!! I took the meds at 8:30 this morning, it is now 3:00 and I've smoked half a pack!!! Will this "jones" to smoke go away or should I call my Dr?

Thanks so much!!! The newbie :)

Been there

I know what your feeling BC I went through the same thing when I was taking Ritalin, and smoked about as much as you while at work. The anxiety doesn't go away with time, or at least it didn't with me. I started taking Xanax but it kind of defeated the purpose of the ADD med. I'm being a hypocrite for saying this but your best bet is to get on Chantix, and take it for the feel 3 months to quit BC that feeling isn't going to go away! I am about to start my 3rd round of it BC I never followed through with the full 3 month prescription, but I can tell you by the second month I was down to 1 cig a day to every other day!
