new ADD at 41 on top of a life of clinical Depression

I guess this diagnoses makes sense but I am a tired lazy person.Long history with depression and on a lot of meds now. Tried Ritilin 10 mg in different times of day in different doses and I just don't feel better. More tired if I don't take the next pill in time but too soon, heart pounds. Was thinking about a long acting. Therapists suggests Adderall but Psych may not agree. Feedback?

Recently Diagnosed & Adderall not working

I am almost 41 and I, too, have just been diagnosed with ADD. I was misdiagnosed with depression and a possible hormone imbalance, but my doctor referred me to a psychiatrist who diagnosed me. I know I am very ADD now, after doing research. She prescribed 20mg of Adderall with 10mg to be taken after 8 hours. It didn't work at all and my doctor was really surprised. She had me take both pills at once, but I'm still not seeing any results. Getting frustrated, and I'm not sure if this is common since my doctor is so surprised. I feel for you. Maybe we just need to keep working to find the right meds.
